Okeechobee Waterway Closures
Scheduled This Summer

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that scheduled lock maintenance will effectively shut down the Okeechobee Waterway from late May until September this year.

The Moore Haven Lock, located at Okechobee Waterway Mile 78.0, will be closed for major maintenance from June 8 to Sept. 3.

The W.P. Franklin Lock, situated at Okeechobee Waterway Mile 121.0, will be closed to allow the installation of a manatee protection system from May 26 to July 1.
